14th - 29th July 2012 Each year the the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) hosts a two week festival which features hundreds of special events organised by local societies and organisations across the UK. As our contribution to the festival on Sunday 22nd July members of the IAG will be leading guided walks from Ribblehead Quarry to the Viking-style settlement at Gauber. The entrance to Ribblehead Quarry NNR (SD 765 788) is situated along a track which runs parallel to the railway line on the opposite side of the road from the Station Inn, Ribblehead. If you are approaching Ribblehead from Ingleton this track is off to the right just before the railway bridge. This event is free and there is no need to book. These walks are also part of the programme of events for the Ribblehead Quarry Open Day hosted by Natural England. For full details of these walks and to see what else the Open Day has to offer click here Click here to visit the CBA website and see what else is on offer during the two week Festival of British Archaeology
